How to read a scent

A perfume unfolds in three layers

01 · Top

The first impression

What you smell right after spraying. Often fresh: citrus, fruit or light herbs. Fades within half an hour.

02 · Heart

The character

Emerges as the top fades and shapes the scent for hours: flowers, spices or sweetness.

03 · Base

What lingers

The deep, warm notes that stay longest on skin and clothes: woods, amber, vanilla, musk or oud.

Tip: judge a scent after 20–30 minutes on your skin, not straight away on a paper strip.
